- Companions may display their achievement with the medallion of the order
Creation
The Defenders was originally conceived by Uilliam an Tarbh Baile na hAbhann and Luighseach nic Lochlainn fifth Baron and Baroness of Dreiburgen. However the final name and badge did not pass until April of 2005, leaving the honor of giving the order out to it’s first recipients to Malcolm and Robynne.

XL by Malcolm Alberic and Robynne the Grey, sixth Baron and Baroness of Dreiburgen, to recognize the warriors of Dreiburgen for their service in arms to the Barony.
