A Polling Order is one whose Companions are consulted by the Crown prior to elevating new members. These include the Orders of the Chivalry, the Laurel, the Pelican, and Order of Defense. Additionally, the Chiron, The Golden Lance and the Vanguard of Honor are polling orders. The Order of the White Scarf of Caid was also a poling order, prior to its closure in 2015.
