The Order of the Mark is a SCA Bestowed Peerage, along with the Order of Chivalry, the Order of the Laurel, the Order of the Pelican, and Order of Defense. Companionship in the Order of the Mark will be granted to those who have excelled in ranged martial pursuits (such as archery, thrown weapons, siege weapons, and mounted archery).

History
Board of Directors Announces Timeline and Order Information (April 2025)
The Board of Directors announced the timeline for implementation of the new Order here on April 7, 2025. The approval of the new peerage name, badge and regalia was publicly announced on social media on April 12, 2025.
Based on the Board of Directors' specifications, writs for the new Order could be offered for three premier members beginning on May 1, 2025. Elevations may begin as of June 7, 2025. No additional writs for new candidates to the Order can be issued until after the initial elevation date has passed, and the Crown can begin the ongoing process of consulting with the Order.

Unto the People of the Kingdom of Caid does Pennefer Crescent, on behalf of Their Royal Majesties Valentine and Brocc, Khan and King of Caid, give you greetings!
In light of the recent announcement from Society about our new peerage, the Order of the Mark, Their Majesties invite you to assist Them in selecting the three premiers by sending in letters of recommendation of individuals you consider to be ideal candidates. Please send your letters of recommendation to crown@sca-caid.org
They will then make Their decision in May and extend offers in that month.
We thank you for your assistance and cooperation on this and look forward to informing you of Their next steps as this Order develops in our Kingdom!

Creation of the Order of the Mark in Caid
On May 10, 2025, at opening court of Altavia Anniversary 2025, TRM Valentine and Brocc invited Dame Cecilia Medici, Master Nikolaos Phaistios, and Dame Teka Turmanov to be created the premiere three members of the Order of the Mark of Caid. They were elevated together into the Order at Summer Coronation 2025 on July 12, 2025.
