Polling Order

A Polling Order is one whose Companions are consulted by the Crown prior to elevating new members. These are the Orders of the Chivalry, the Laurel, the Pelican, The White Scarf and the Vanguard of Honor. In Caid, the consultation process is usually driven by the Orders, which proactively make recommendations to the Crown regarding those people the Companions believe should be added to the Order. Traditionally, Caidan monarchs do not elevate Their subjects to the Peerage (Chivalry, Laurel, Pelican) without the consent of the Order.
