There are 20 Kingdoms of the Known World.

The Society for Creative Anachronism is an inclusive community of over 30,000 members located in 20 Kingdoms, with a world-wide reach.

Those 20 Kingdoms of the Known World of the SCA are, in the order of their founding:


  • The West Kingdom was the first Kingdom of the Society. It was created in 1966, and is comprised of the modern lands of Northern California, much of Nevada and Alaska in the United States, and Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Pacific Rim in Asia.   • The Kingdom of the East was created in 1968. It is comprised of the modern lands of eastern Pennsylvania, eastern New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine in the United States, and Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland in Canada.   • The Middle Kingdom (Midrealm) was created in 1969. It is comprised of the modern lands of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, most of Kentucky, and some of Iowa (Scott County, eastern Muscatine County, most of Clinton County) in the United States, and Essex County and Windsor in Ontario in Canada.   • The Kingdom of Atenveldt was created in 1971, a "child" of the West. It originally encompassed all the lands between the West, East, and Middle Kingdoms, but now, is comprised of the state of Arizona. Information about the Kingdom of Atenveldt may be found online at https://www.atenveldt.org/
  • The Kingdom of Meridies was created in 1978 , a "child" of the Kingdom of Atenveldt. It is comprised of the modern lands of Alabama, almost all of Georgia, a bit of the Florida panhandle, most of Tennessee, and parts of southern Kentucky (Allen, Barren, Calloway, Logan, Simpson, and Warren counties).   • The Kingdom of Caid was created in 1978 , a "child" of the Kingdom of the West. It is comprised of the modern lands of Southern California, Greater Las Vegas Area, and Hawaii. Information about the great Kingdom of Caid may be found online at https://places.sca-caid.org/caid/
  • The Kingdom of Ansteorra was created in 1979, a "child" of the Kingdom of Atenveldt. It is comprised of Oklahoma, and Texas east of the Mountain time zone. Information about the Kingdom of Ansteorra may be found online at https://ansteorra.org/
  • The Kingdom of Atlantia was created in 1981 , a "child" of the Kingdom of the East. It is comprised of the modern lands of Maryland, the District of Columbia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Augusta, Georgia.   • The Kingdom of An Tir was created in 1982, a "child" of the Kingdom of the West. It is comprised of the modern lands of Oregon, Washington, and the northern tip of Idaho in the United States, as well as most of British Columbia, Yukon and the Northwest Territories in Canada.   • The Kingdom of Calontir was created in 1984, a "child" of the Kingdom of the Middle. It is comprised of the modern lands of Kansas, Missouri, most of Iowa, Nebraska, Northern Arkansas. Information about the Kingdom of Calontir may be found online at https://www.calontir.org/
  • The Kingdom of Trimaris was created in 1985, a "child" of the Kingdom of Meridies. It is comprised of the modern lands of the majority of Florida, and lays claim to the land of Panama. Information about the Kingdom of Trimaris may be found online at https://www.trimaris.org/
  • The Kingdom of the Outlands was created in 1986 , a "child" of the Kingdom of Atenveldt. It is comprised of the modern lands of New Mexico, Colorado, parts of Nebraska; Eastern Wyoming, and El Paso & Hudspeth counties in Texas.   • The Kingdom of Drachenwald was created in 1993, a "child" of the Kingdom of the East, and is comprised of the modern lands of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Information about the Kingdom of Drachenwald may be found online at https://drachenwald.sca.org
  • The Kingdom of Artemisia was created in 1997, a "child" of the Kingdom of Atenveldt. It is comprised of the modern lands of Montana, Utah, southern Idaho, and Western Wyoming (Evanston, Green River, and Rock Springs).   • The Kingdom of Æthelmearc was created in 1997, a "child" of the Kingdom of the East. It is comprised of the modern lands of central/western Pennsylvania, western New York, and West Virginia. Information about the Kingdom of Æthelmearc may be found online at https://aethelmearc.org/
  • The Kingdom of Ealdormere was created in 1998, a "child" of the Kingdom of the Middle. It is comprised of the modern lands of most of Ontario in Canada, with the exception of Essex County, and Northwestern Ontario around Thunder Bay.   • The Kingdom of Lochac was created in 2002, a "child" of both West Kingdom (Australia) and the Kingdom of Caid (New Zealand).   • The Kingdom of Northshield was created in 2004, a "child" of the Kingdom of the Middle. It is comprised of the modern lands of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in the United States, and Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario in Canada.   • The Kingdom of Gleann Abhann was created in 2005, a "child" of the Kingdom of Meridies. It is comprised of the modern lands of Mississippi, Louisiana, most of Arkansas, and the far western side of Tennessee.
