Defunct canton of Angels
Overview
In Existence 9/1977 - 3/1985
Meaning: Named for the color of the smoggy Los Angeles air. The canton's original name was "Derryabarre", but this name did not meet the approval of the heralds.
The idea of forming a Canton in the central area of Los Angeles County was inspired by an attempt to extend the Canton of the Canyons as far west as the Wilshire District of the city of Los Angeles.
