Meaning: The name translates the contemporary modern name of the area from Spanish to English. The historical name of the area in Spanish is much longer - El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciúncula.
Area: Established as the Greater Los Angeles Basin, then expanded to include Santa Barbara until Isles broke off on its own. currently it is the original territory minus the territories formed from it (Dreiburgen, Lyondemere, Gyldenholt, Altavia, and Heatherwyne).
