Founded:	as a canton of Angels prior to 1978, became Barony May 1983
Modern Location:	San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, California

Altavia is ruled by Their Excellencies Thorin and Courtney.

Meaning: "High road" in Latin.

Established: originally as New Albion in Unknown, name changed to Sarn Wold in Jul 78, name changed to Altavia in Jan. 82.

Area: San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles, Ca., including Canyon Country, formerly included Lancaster/Palmdale

Blazon: Argent, a fret sable and on a chief vert a laurel wreath argent. (The arms symbolize the SCA freeway offramp).

Heraldic officer's title: Sable Fret The herald's name is that of the principal charge of the arms.
