Meaning: Named for the color of the smoggy Los Angeles air. The canton's original name was "Derryabarre", but this name did not meet the approval of the heralds.

Blazon: Gules, in fess three lightning flashes palewise Or, and upon a chief invected argent, a laurel wreath vert. Branch arms released in 1993
