Caid is the 6th Kingdom in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Caidan is the proper spelling for members of the Kingdom.
Trivia
- Caid is said to mean "fortress" in medieval Arabic.
- The Crown Prince is known as al-Caid, which is Arabic for the governor, or the leader.
- The Crown Princess is Lady Caid.
- As a point of interest, the last star on the handle of the Big Dipper is named al-Caid.
- Established: 8 June 74 A.S. IX as a principality of the West.
- Kingdom: 3 June 78 A.S. XIII.
- Area: When established: Southern California, from Bakersfield to the Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada borders.
- Current area: Original territory plus north to Merced, east to Las Vegas, Nv, west to Hawaii, plus New Zealand. Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) was added Spring 1999. New Zealand left Caid and became part of the Kingdom of Lochac in Unknown
