Kingdom Representatives to the Inter-Kingdom Archery Competitions
This is a history of Caid's participation in the Inter-Kingdom Archery Competition (IKAC) and the Inter-Kingdom Combat Archery Competition (IKCAC). The original document was researched in 1992 and covered from the 1985 season to the 1992 season using results in kingdom publications but with the advent of the internet those results were no longer published. This year (2025) I stumbled upon a results source that had from 1995 to 2007. I chose to only include results that included Caid Archers all other results that did not involve Caid is not represented here. That being said, there were divisions that had competitions with no Caidan teams or archers entered. Do not look at this as a history of the Inter-Kingdom Competitions just Caids archers representation on behalf of the kingdom. Enjoy the expanded history.
Sir Jon Fitz Rauf created the Inter-Kingdom Archery Competitions as a mail in kingdom team competition. The kingdom teams were made of the top three scoring archers in inter-kingdom rounds, (using just their best round for the year) then averaging the three scores to get a kingdom score that would be compared with the other kingdoms in a year long competition. The Inter-kingdom rounds consist of two ends of six arrows untimed and two timed ends of as many scoring arrows shot in 30 seconds. These ends are shot at 40, 30 and 20 yards and are added up for a total score. The divisions, equipment requirements and rules have changed over the years but the spirit of kingdom pride remains. This is a remembrance of those who have represented Caid on a Inter-kingdom level.

Note: A.S.XXX 1995 Period Division TIE(#): The tie is due to a question of the interpertation of the Period division rules regarding: if period style crossbows were allowed to complete in the Period division. Since the Period division rules, as I wrote them, did not state that period crossbows could NOT compete in the Period division. And the rules for defining period style crossbows were included in the Period rules rather than under the crossbow division rules. The Period crossbow scores from the East that were entered in the Period division, instead of the crossbow division, will be counted. However, I have declared first place to be tie between the Middle and the East. Next year the rules will be changed to clearly state that peiod crossbows may only shoot in the crossbow division. I would like to receive opinions on dividing the crossbow division into modern and period sections and how to better define period style crossbows.
