Dolphin Herald is the chief deputy of Crescent Herald and is 'Voice of the Heirs'. Since 2003, Dolphin has also served as 'external submission herald' for Caid.

The heraldic title refers to the "totem animal" of the Kingdom, the heraldic dolphin. Master Hrorek's article on the history of Caid's heraldic titles tells us the title was created in May 1978. Therefore the heraldic title was derived from the Order of the [[Dolphin]], created in 1975.
