From Giles Hill

I remember Rhiannon as a lovely, smiling, and gracious Lady; I never heard her speak an angry or unkind word. I had the pleasure of travelling with her to England and Wales in 2000-- one of the most pleasant trips I've had. I still treasure a small jewel, a Celtic cross in a lozenge that she made.

From The Crown Prints, June 2008

THL Rhiannon o Hafan Gath of Gyldenholt passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008. A Caidan for 20 years, she was consort to Lord Richard Surefoot Mallory.

Those fortunate enough to be counted among Rhiannon's friends enjoyed a unique level of generosity and fierce loyalty. She reveled in the activities of those around her, and her unconditional support and faith in them greatly contributed to their sucesses. Perhaps this is what fueled her own intense competitive spirit. Rhiannon was always willing to challenge herself with new adventures, and most importantly, share them with those around her.

Rhiannon was squire and de-facto apprentice to Duke John ap Gwyndaf. She held many awards: Lux Caidis for jewelry, Argent Arrow, Dolphin, Crescent Sword, Harp Argent for jewelry and an Award of Arms. Rhiannon was also honored with Signa Reginae from Ceinwen I, Arianna I and Karina, Guyldenholt's Foret d'Or and the Legion of Courtesy.

Rhiannon participated in an impressive list of SCA activities including fighting on both tournament and war fields, equestrian, target and combat archery, cooking, poetry, singing, dance and costuming. She was a member of The Company of Saint George, and many Caidans wear jewelry made by Rhiannon's hands.

May the green and gold of her standard ever wave in the memories of those touched by Rhiannon o Hafen Gath.
