Sept 6, 1970 | AS IV | A fighting demo was held at Mythcon I (http://www.mythsoc.org/mythcon/mythcon-1/). Harvey Mudd College is located in Claremont, CA and was once known as the College of Boethius in the former Shire of Heatherwyne. |
Jan 1971 | AS IV | The first 12th Night Revel was held at the Bull & Bush Public House in Costa Mesa, CA (now Gyldenholt, attended by Jean de la Grand 'Anse, King of the West. With His Majesty's permission the new Baron of the Angels Pwyll pen Tyrhon created the Order of the Seraphic Star. This was the SCA's first Baronial Order. |
May 1, 1971 | AS V | Baron Pwyll pen Tyrhon became the first "southerner" to receive a Court Barony. |
Sept 18, 1971 | AS V | At a joint baronial anniversary for Angels and Calafia, a Council of Arts is formed that includes Ginger of Orange, Madelain du Bois, Bjo of Griffin, and Jusuf Shahin-I-rum Aga. |
Jan 8, 1971 | AS V | The 2nd 12th Night is celebrated at the Unitarian Church in Los Angeles. |
Feb 19, 1971 | AS V | The Canton on Naess is founded. Talanque and Rowen Lynn of Woodvine appointed as founding Baron and Baroness of Calafia. (Her Excellency's original SCA name was "Bonnie Blue-Bells" and then "Rowan Lynn of Woodbine".) Their Excellencies lived on Woodbine Street. The Barony's first Anniversary Tourney was held, with Their Majesties of the West Paul of Bellatrix and Carol of Bellatrix in attendance. |

Jun 6, 1971 | AS VI | The Canton of Failte was founded in what is now Gyldenholt. |
