Dolphin Herald is the chief deputy of Crescent Principal Herald and is voice Herald of the Crown Prince and Princess. Since 2003, Dolphin has also served as External Submissions Herald for Caid, and therefore is also an officer of the College of Arms of the Society.
The heraldic title refers to the "totem animal" of the Kingdom, the heraldic dolphin. Master Hrorek's article on the history of Caid's heraldic title tells us the title was created in May 1978. Therefore the heraldic title was derived from the Order of the Dolphin, created in 1975.
