Chirurgeon

The Chirurgeon is in charge of first aid at events, and contacting medical professionals if required.

The badge of the fleam will remain available for those individual volunteers (not affiliated with the SCA, Inc. and its Kingdoms and local groups) willing to provide basic first aid.

On July 11th, 2015, the SCA Board of Directors announced that the office of the Chirurgeonate would be closed on August 10th, 2015. Volunteers who wish to continue to administer first aid can still organize under the Chirurgeon's Guild or independently. Over the counter medications may not be purchased by SCA branches to distribute or make available to event attendees.
