Vanguard of Honor is granted for recognition of outstanding honorable and chivalric actions upon the tournament field. Membership in the The Vanguard is a polling order.
Titles
- Bestow no titles or precedence.
Token/Regalia
- Orange and black braided cord worn on the right arm or shoulder.
- One suggested inkle pattern can be found on Baroness Bridget's website
- According to the Caidan website, Royals Section, under Awards, Awards Inventory - Vanguard of Honor and Corde de Guerre awards are the cords themselves, and are wider bands. These are usually woven the size of garters, or about 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch wide. These should be long enough to hang from a shoulder or tie around the upper-arm comfortably.

On 7/1/2006 the order was opened to rapier fighters under Sven and Kolfinna with the induction of Alexander Kallidokos and Laertes McBride.
The unique colors of the award were chosen because they were King Patric's livery colors.

Captains of the Vanguard act as the secretary of the order and is appointed by the Crown after consultation with the Order.
