Overview
Cooking and the study of cuisines in the SCA's period is one of the fundamental arts and sciences of the SCA. Various culinary activities include:
- Preparing food for feasts, lunches, war camps, etc., including "Sotelties" (food disguised as other food or used as decorative, edible centrepiece)
- Redacting period recipes and attempting to recreate period food.
- Participating in various culinary competitions throughout the year, including
- The Barony of the Angels' annual Hester Spoon competition at the Barony's anniversary tourney.
- The Barony of Lyondemere's Cast Iron Chef.
