Come join us for a Musing day in an Aegean atmosphere, as Lyondemere celebrates its twelfth Anniversary. The Baccanalia (dry site, please!) will be held at Columbia Regional Park in the city of Torrance.
Our autocrat (from the greek "autos" = self, "cratos" = rule: a person who knows her own measure) has arranged a variety of contests of Olympian proportion.
- Love Poetry (extra points if it's in English), sponsored by Lady Meghan McInnes of Athens(1)
- A Heraldry Contest, sponsored by Lord Stephen "It's all Greek to me!" de Huyn
- A Dance Contest, sponsored by Lady Aliskye MacKyven of Rhodes
- Best Greek Costume (Chiton flying contest), sponsored by Mistress Astra "I Already Have a Greek Name" Christiana Benedict and Mistress Angelina "Leave Me Out of This" Nicollette
- A Scavenger Hunt, sponsored by Dirk "Got Any Golden Fleece?" Addison
and
- A Surprise Appearance Contest by our Beloved Baron(2)
In addition, we have schedule athletic competitions (read: hitting with sticks) in both double elimination and melee team lists. (Bring your own team of five--limit of one knight--or make arrangements on the spot.)
