Sir Eichling von Amrum, KSCA. Eichling has consistently returned almost all the awards given to her that bear precedence. For many years, the only exception was her original Award of Arms that she received in 1979. (She also accepted an Augmentation of Arms from TRM Guillaume and Felinah in 2000.) Most significantly, Eichling had turned down four offers, from the West and from Caid, to become a member of the Chivalry. When she turned down the fourth offer, she promised the King who made the offer, Cristian del Leon Rampante, that she would allow him to Knight her if he regained the throne. Conde Cristian has not yet done so; however, when offered the belt for the fifth time by TRM Sven V and Iseabail, she agreed to accept if Conde Cristian's hand was on the sword that dubbed her, thereby keeping her promise. This was done with the consent of all parties, and Sir Eichling was Knighted at TRM Sven and Iseabail's final court in January 2025.
Persona
Eichling was born in the early 10th century on the Frisian island of Amrum of a Norse (Swedish/Danish) father and a Celtic (Briton) mother. She left Amrum in her early teens and indentured herself for four years to her father's friend and business partner, the Iberian merchant "Uncle Samuel". During that time, she became literate and learned something of medicine/herbology. She also learned to fight.
After leaving Uncle Sam, Eichling hired herself out as an armed chaperone for women traveling with male armnsmen; her motto "I guard the guardians" was developed during that time. After a decade and a half of that profession, she found herself increasingly interested in medicine and co-founded a small merchant house that dealt in medical texts and supplies.
