- Basic Riding
- Tilting at Rings
- Tilting at the Quintain
- Use of sword and lance against "Saracen Heads"
- Goblet and Banner Racing
- and other Pertinent Skills such as Grooming and Equipment Usage
The seminar on Saturday will be followed by a trail ride (and also archery practice if interest is shown) for those who wish to camp out or return. The event will be on the grounds of Lady Donwenna Beast Healer of Hawksheye in the City of Riverside. There is space for weekend campsites, day pavilions, and all the horses and riders we can muster. Camping setup can be made as early as Thursday evening. The fee for seminar and site will be $2 per person excluding children under ten years of age. The fee will help defray the costs of portable toilets and a shower.
THIS EVENT IS DEPENDENT UPON PRIVATELY OWNED HORSES. If you own a trustworthy steed and you want to use him exclusively, or are willing to allow your horse(s) to be used by others, please bring him. We need the support of all horsemen and women of the realm to make this event happen. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A HORSE, PLEASE COME. A number of people have already volunteered their horses for your use.
All interested persons are invited. Previous riding experience is not necessary. Wear costumes that will be comfortable for riding. Seminar set up is on Saturday from 8 - 9:30 a.m. Classes and practices will continue thereafter until 5 p.m. or light fails us. Auctions (group or private) and bake sales are welcome and encouraged. Please call Lady Donwenna in advance if possible. IF YOU ARE BRINGING HORSES, please call Duke Armand de Sevigny.
