Master Colwyn's Elevation Doublet

While I was living in Drachenwald, Don Colwyn was offered the accolade of Master of Defense back in Caid. I knew that I wanted to make something particularly spectacular so I decided to make a completely pinked and then pearled doublet for him. I utilized his existing pattern which we knew would fit him since there was no way for me to do even one fitting before the elevation.

First was experimentation with using Gum Arabic as an edging sealing solution for the pinked edges as suggested in period documents. Different concentrations of painting supply Gum Arabic (which is 1 part Gum Arabic to 4 parts water) were attempted; 75% Gum Arabic solution to water gave the best binding results while impacting the color and stiffness of the fabric the least.

Sven's Norse and Cassandra's Venetian were made entirely from materials given to us during our first reign by the populace of Caid. I wanted to honor the generosity of Caid by dedicated an entire outfit to them!
