THL Niall Marescal is a Companion of the Order of the Crescent and the Chamfron. He was previously known as Nils Reiter von Hessental, Nils Reiter, Nialls MacKeth, and Nils Marisgal.
Persona
In May of 1189, Nils Reiter, horseman of Swabian descent, followed his lord, Duke Fredrick of Swabia to the holy land for the third crusade. The expedition was not without it's tragedies. On 10 june 1190, Emperor Fredrick I Barbarosa drowned in the Selef River. While Duke Frederick of Swabia took command of the Imperial army, he too was struck down in 1191 of plague. Nils befriended an English Knight and rode with his english counterparts for the remainder of the crusade. He returned to Swabia with several horses of Arabic descent.

Projects & Publications
Nils brought Mounted Crest combat to the Kingdom by demonstrating it at GWW VI. In partnership with THL Christiane and Lady Ariadne he helped bring jousting to the Kingdom demonstating that in June of 2004 at the QEC. He rewrote the equestrian manual a few times, and also wrote the initial kingdom mounted crest combat and jousting regulations.
