Duchess Faizah al-Zarqa prefers the alternative transliteration "Faizeh al-Zarqa." She and her husband, Sir Andrew Baird, have been in the SCA since 2000. She is the Lady of the household Kabila al-Raqs B’Saif, and it is her goal to turn everyone to the Sparkly Side and become Central Asian. She derives a great amount of joy out of learning period styles of Islamic and Central Asian dance, and sharing her knowledge with others. She is apprenticed to Mistress Jadi Fatima al-Ishfahani al-Samarkandiyya.
Persona
Faizeh is a 16th Century Safavid Persian dancer. However, she has an uncanny ability to travel through time and space and sometimes finds herself appearing as a Mughal Indian, an Ottoman, or a Mongol.
