From the Crown Prints
(Personal information removed) To be held in and by the Barony of Angels at Sequoia Park, corner of Ridgecrest St. and Cadiz St., Alhambra, CA, February 10, 1990.
From the heights of Mt. Fuji, and from the tiger-infested jungles of Korea, from the Buddhist of the Forbidden City, and from the straw huts of Edo come participants to Angels' Oriental tournament. All Oriental personas (European also!) are invited to experience a tournament of Oriental delights: "Not just another light-weapons tourney."
This year's theme will be the Year of the Horse (2650) in honor of the Chinese astrological calendar. this event is a special day for all Oriental personas to come together for a of fighting, games and arts.
Schedule is as follows for fighters:
- 8:30 Site Opens
- 9:00 Lists Opens
- 9:30 Opening Court
- 10:00 Lists close, Armor Inspection & Authorizations. Melees begin following by double-elimination pole arm lists
- 12:00 Lunch break
- 12:30 Single sword and Florentine Lists
- 5:00 Closing Court
Non-fighter events (Prizes will be awarded for winning entries):
- Horse-Themed Haiku
- Traditional & "Unorthodox" Bonsai
- Most Authentic Oriental Encampment
- Fastest Rice Eater in the Barony
- Best Oriental Banner
- "Go" Tourney
- Best use of a Horse in the Oriental spirit in drawing/painting/"other"
- And other contests for fighters and non-fighters to be announced at the site.
Lord Jamal Damien Marcus has asked me to announce that he invites all challengers in a Sumo wrestling contest, "Shogun of the Hill" style. Also for the smalls there are to be activities and games throughout the day (with even more prizes!) There's also going to be a fortune cookie raffle sponsored by Lady Therese of the White Griffin. THIS IS A DRY SITE! No alcohol is allowed on site (Not one drop of sake!)
