Spring Prize Tourney

The Barony of Dreiburgen is pleased to announce its annual Spring Prize Tourney To be held on May 7th. Double elimination lists and plenty of Contests to fill the day.


FIGHTERS TAKE NOTE!!----

The winner of the lists will be a rewarded with a quality KIRBY BROADSWARD!! Second prize to be a dagger by the same mastersmith!!

  • Banner Contest
  • Chess Tournament
  • Arts (subject to be announced)
  • Best dish in the spirit of spring (dish must contain flowers and veggies, display of same will count.)

Springs Banquet

A banquet in the French style will immediately follow the tournament at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Hall directly across the street form the tourney site. Cost for the banquet is $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child under 12 years of age (prior to April 30th) and 12.50 per adult and $7.50 per child (after April 30th). Reservations are limited so please be as prompt as possible.

The banquet hall is DAMP, wines, ales, etc. but no hard stuff!! Suitably camouflaged ice chests will be allowed. Please provide your own dinner service. A contest for the best table setting will be held during the feast, award to be announced at the end of the feast.

Annual Spring Tourney will be held Mat 16, A.S. XXI (1987) at Mojave Narrows Regional Park, Victorville. Attention All Ye Gentlefolk of the Kingdom!! Come and join us in celabrating the “Lusty Month of May”. The site is secluded and boasts two well-stocked lakes, over night camping, and equestrian facilities.

A PREMIUM QUALITY KIRBY BROADSWORD is the prize for the Heavy Weapons lists. The site fee with proof of SCA membership is $2.00; non-members $3.00. The site is WET and merchants are welcome. Numerous on-site contest, including a shinai lists, will occur. Anyone wishing to sponsor a contest should contact the autocrats prior to the event.

Saturday night camping is included in the site fee, but not, alas, the fishing fee. The park is well-maintained and has modern facilities. However, the site itself is semi-primitive, so that drinking water containers are highly suggested. Portable privies andnon-potable water (including an Artesian well, flush facilities, and showers are a 5-10 walk from the site. The park has a small snack bar with limited offerings and hours.
