On March 14th, Sarn Wold is holding its Combination Tournament on the campus of Cal State Northridge (CSUN), 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge.
This tourney will offer a whole range of contests with martial aspects: archery, combat archery and combat lists, with the possibility of shinai lists. There will be several on-the-sport contests in heraldry, arts and sciences. The archery contests will include a Royal Round, shooting at special targets, and a combat archery melee. Fighting for the day will be the usual lists with double eliminations.
The site will be dry, with the exception of the showers, which will be available until 5 pm.
SCHEDULE
- 9:00am Pitch thy pavilions
- 10:00 Opening court
- 10:30 Lists open for combat and archery
- 11:00 Armor inspection and Target Archery begins
- 12:00 Combat archery begins
- 1:00pm Fighting begins
- 2:00 Royal Round
- 4:00 Closing court
- 5:00 Dinner break; showers close
- 7:00 Revel begins
The Revel will be at the home of Viscountess Rosemary of Talmont. It will be BYOB, plus munchies to share. There will be a Medieval song contest, with both words and music in period. Additionally, there will be a swimming pool and a jacuzzi available for those who bring mundane (modern) swimsuits.
