One of the most visible recreation of SCA-period life is the devising and display of heraldic devices. In the SCA, heraldic devices are granted to individuals, geopolitical areas, and offices including the baronage and the monarchs.

Resources for Existing Devices
- The SCA Armorial, often referred to as "The O & A"
- Caid's Order of Precedence, referred as "The OP"
- Caid Roll of Arms, referred to as "The ROA." As noted on the home page, "Devices that have cleared for use have been marked." When in doubt, check with the person whose device it is, and/or your local herald.
