“The mid-day Dreiburgen, Scribal Show” It’s astounding! Dreiburgen is Dreaming! Research is the goal. But listen closely - Cause there’s some good info. I’ve got to read the scroll. Their Excellencies Baron Ramvoldus and Baroness Kungund would like, if they may, to invite you to the Annual Dreiburgen Convention. They are choosing some champions, with fine arts and rattan. So come out to the park and see who is worthy of remark. I see you’re excited about partici… pation.
Combat: Armored Combat Armored Combat will be a single-elimination contest with a second chance Bear Pit. The fighter with the most points in the bear pit will join the winner of the Single Elimination round in the finals.
Rapier Combat: Rapier combat will be a Doubles Tournament. Fighters will create their own teams (Only one MoD per team). Lives will be given out based on the fighter’s rank. MoDs and Grant Level Fighters – 1 Life AoA level and Unranked Fighters – 2 lives For example, A team consisting of a MoD and a Duelist will have a total of 3 lives. A team consisting of a Duelist and an Unranked fighter will have a total of 4 lives. You are welcome to form your teams and report them to the lyst tables. Any unaffiliated fighters will be paired by the lysts crew.
Arts and Sciences: The Hare Competition is open to everyone to submit their first attempt at a craft completed within the last three months. The Tortoise Competition is open to previous Hare entrants with your best work in the same discipline as the previous year. If your entry is a bardic submission please let Their Excellencies know as they wish to be there to hear it. Hound Coursing: After opening court, the Hound Handlers of Caid will open up the course for a short time to give our hounds some exercise. All dogs are welcome to participate. Other Activities: There will also be the traditional auction and donation lunch.
Schedule of events:
- 8:00 am - Site Opens
- 10:00 am - Opening Court
- 15 minutes after the end of court - Lists Close
- 12:00 pm - Lunch
- 5:00 pm - Site Closes
Registration information: Adult Event Registration $20, Adult Member Discount Event Registration $15, Youth aged 17 and under are guests of the Barony. Payment using cash and checks only will be accepted on-site. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Dreiburgen. There are no refunds.
Entry information: The park typically has an entry fee, but we will be collecting it as part of your site fee, so please let the rangers at the gate know that you are with the SCA, and you should be allowed to enter without payment. Directions: Rancho Jurupa Park, 4800 Crestmore Rd, Riverside, CA 92509
From the 60 freeway, take exit 50 onto Rubidoux Blvd (from 60E turn right, from 60W turn left), turn left onto Mission Blvd, right onto Crestmore Road, then left into the park. From the 91 freeway: take exit 64 (from 91E exit University Ave, continue straight then turn left, from 91W Mission Inn Ave, turn right) onto Mission Inn Ave, turn left onto Crestmore Road, then left into the park. Once through the park gate, continue past the parking lot on the right, then turn right into the next parking lot, then left, following the road and SCA signs until it ends at the lake picnic parking area. If the lot is full, you may unload at the curb, before parking your vehicle in the previous parking lot.
