The Barony of Calafia wishes to cordially extend an invitation to the entirety of the Knowne World to join us once again for a weekend of fighting, frolicking, and revelry in the shade of the beautiful oak trees of Potrero. The event will be held at Potrero County park, 24800 Potrero Park Drive, Potrero, CA 91963. This year the event will be held Friday, August 31st through Monday, September 3rd. Please note that Fall Potrero War will not begin on Thursday like May War did.

Pre-registration and land allocation are once again available on the Potrero War website, www.potrerowar.org. Please take a few moments to send in a land allocation request if there is a particular location you our your group prefers to camp. If you are pre-registering, please remember to also fill out the land allocation form; simply sending in the pre-registration paperwork does not reserve land. All pre-registered individuals, set-up crew staff, and merchants will still need to check in at gate.

There are many diverse activities scheduled throughout the weekend, including the traditional armored and rapier melee combat, unarmored combat, archery, youth combat, dancing, shopping, and much more. For those gentles seeking cooler, more relaxing activities, we will be holding a wide variety of arts and sciences activities all day both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday afternoon we will be holding our traditional fund raising arts auction; donations of hand-made items and other artistic works are most graciously appreciated!

And new this year, we will be holding the first ever siege sewing contest. Much like the ever-popular siege cooking contest, participants will be given a batch of fabric, notions, and other supplies at the start of the contest, and will have a specific amount of time to complete as many outfits as possible. Details are available on the website and by contacting the autocrats. There will be a maximum of five teams permitted to enter the contest, so start planning early!

When you’re onsite, please keep in mind that wars are only successful because of all the hours so generously worked by the volunteers. Please donate two hours of your time to make the war a more enjoyable experience for everyone. To make it as easy as possible to for our volunteer staff to plan their war schedules ahead of time, volunteer sign-ups are available in advance on the website.

To keep up on all the latest event information, please visit the Potrero War website at www.potrerowar.org; check back often for frequent updates.
