Memories

  • The day dawned dark and gloomy, but turned bright and cheerful as the Barony of Dreiburgen began its tournament in honour of patron Saint Geronimus. After their Excellences Baron Leo de Coronado and Baroness Rowena de Segovia welcomed all at opening Court, the office of Seneschal was turned over to Theodric Pendar of Faulconwood by Lady Brann Morgan Dunmore of Galloway. Lists and various competitions were enjoyed throughout the day. The most amusing (and appropriate) miracle performed by St. Geronimus was experienced and related by Karin von Schatten. A new home of the monastic Order of St. Geronimus was designed by Dierdra Oakman and its new monastic habit was detailed by Edrick von Isenworth. While the monks honor their patron with Geronian chants by Elenoré de Brus d'Artois and Annalind Airamid, they will wear the badge designed by Baroness Rowena. The title of Protector of the monastic Order of St. Geronimus was presented to Adrian Buchanon at closing Court for his prowess in the Lists. As the day ended, the Order was most thankful for the day's developments and looks to the tourney of next year. ~ Hrorek Halfdane of Faulconwood and Groan de Berritt (Nov. 1979)
