Classes Taught

  • Roving Kumihimo Workshop, Highland War 2025, 08/29-09/01/2025
My roving Kumihimo workshop had pre-made starter kits to start your own 8-string cord. I offered the history and tips on how to read a pattern, how to pick up where you leftoff, and how to unbraid to correct a mistake.

Beads made for the Shire of al-Sahid Anniversary 2022

Decorated Dress

I stamped it, dyed it, and handsewed decoratively. But I cant sew so Roe did the actual sewing with our machine. Kashka-Turmanov-Dress1a.jpg| Kashka-Turmanov-Dress1b.jpg|

Illumination

Oh, I did some of the "illumination" in Valentine Martyn's big book.
I traced over real ones to bring a little historical pizzaz to the work. But I take no credit for the original designs.
I got Valentine to put arts and sciences as an honorable mention in his book.
I drew/traced these from pictures on an ipad. Originally digital art, and I had gotten permission from Faizah to use her image and likeness.
The man on the left poking the fire is from a picture of Jamal cooking like a 4 star chef at a war.
My "illumination" is more a celebration than a show of skill, an advocate and ally rather than expert.

Kumihimo Cord Making

Order of the Mark Cords

The blue and white sparkly cords are used in the gauntlets and on the medallions for the three priemer members of the Order of the Mark: Cecilia Medici, Nikolaos Phaistios, and Teka Turmanov. I felt very proud that I made enough award cord for the new peerage 😄
I wasn't commissioned or sought out. I made it and offered it, they liked the sparkles. The deal was made!
One was an attempt to make little arrows, it's too subtle for my liking but technically successful.
I got to see them put one on Nikko with his award on it and it was lovely to see.
The arrows went into Teka's gauntlets.
