Highland War in Al-Sahid September 2 – 5, 2005
Word has reached our ears that invading hordes once again threaten Caid’s Northern trade routs. The Shire of Al-Sahid request the presents of all the Known World to stand beside us at Highland War where you will find TWO days of combat, both heavy and rapier, as well as numerous tournaments to test the varying skills of our men at arms.
Site
All of this and more will take place on the BEAUTIFUL GREEN GRASS of Schmidt Park (old George Air Force Base) in Victorville, CA.
Schedule for the Event:
September 2
- Noon – Site Opens
September 5
- Noon – Site Closes (When mechanical “rain showers” are expected to begin).
The Isle of Rhodes will host their traditional Single-Sword Torchlight tourney, we will have our usual Great Weapons tournament, and the loyal merchants, greateful for our protection, will sponsor a special tournament for new fighters only. New merchants are welcome to join us.
Other new activities will include a bardic circle and a tavern (period dance lessons to be provided!). Numerous other Arts & Sciences activities are also planned, including a brewing contest for both alcoholic beverages and vinegars And the second annual Iron chef cooking contest to be judged by a blue ribbon panel with prizes to be awarded!
