Gallavally Anniversary
April 23, 2005
April 23: St George’s Day, William Shakespeare’s Birthday, te date of an old European Festival of the green man, a week till May Day…and our 17th Anniversary! Come join the Canton of Gallavally as we celebrate this, our amethyst, citrine and furniture anniversary, with activities for all ages, in honor of the legendary folk and festivals that share our day.
Schedule
- 8:00 am – Site opens
- 10:00 am – Opening Court
- Noon – Luncheon
- 4:00 pm – Closing Court
- 6:00 pm – Site closes
- 7:00 pm – Revel (info below)
Plans include the Gallavally Champion Tourney for Heavy and Rapier Fighters; a Shakespearean Trivia Contest; a Bardic competition, Bring your best theme related short piece; a Peoples Choice Arts Science contest; youth games and activities; and White Elephant Raffle, all donations gratefully accepted. We may break out the old May Pole and do some dancing!
The Canton will also be providing a simple “feast” luncheon for the populace.
So brush up on your Shakespeare & St George, break out your Morris Bells and May Pole ribbons, mark the date, Gallavally’s turning 17 and having a party!
Revel:
Want more fun after the day’s activities? At 7:00 pm the event steward is hosting a revel! There will be a best dessert contest, a Best Home Brew Contest (extra points given to both if using purple or gold themes), and sing around the campfire bardic. The revel site will be wet. Crash space will be available.
