Queen’s Champion Archery & Thrown Weapons October 20, 2012
Lords and Ladies, Archers and Throwers all, Their Majesties, Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies and the Barony of the Angels invites you to Woodley Park in the Barony of Altavia on Saturday, October 20, 2012 for Queen's Champion Archery & Thrown Weapons Tournament.
All Archery and Thrown Weapon Challenges will be decided after Crown Tourney. Please contact the event stewards for more information on the Challenges. In addition to the open division championship, there will also be a contest to decide Her Highness' Youth Champion Archer! All youth archers are invited to come and test their skills on the range! The youth division will be shooting from shorter distances than the open division, but on the same course. Crossbows are allowed.
There is limited parking on site, and trailers are strongly discouraged. The parking lot is approximately 100 yards from the event site. It is a natural park, and all vehicles must be parked in parking area or on the street. There are ample shade trees throughout the range, so pavilions are optional. There will be NO archery authorizations at the event. Archers must be authorized prior to this event if you plan to shoot.
We will have Merchants. Contact the Merchant Steward to sign up. Merchant setup begins at 8:00 a.m.
Bardic entertainment for Their Majesties, Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies is highly encouraged. There will also be Traveling Scriptorium, so come by to try your hand at a new Art. Please come out and have a fun day with Their Majesties, Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies of the Barony of the Angels.

- 10:00 am Opening Court
- 12:30 pm Lunch break
- 4:00 pm Closing Court
- 5:00 pm Site Closes
Site: Woodley Park Archery Range, 6331 Woodley Avenue, Van Nuys, CA 91406. THIS IS A VERY DRY SITE. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN AT ALL TIMES. PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PARK BUT NOT INSIDE THE ARCHERY RANGE. Leash laws are in effect. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the park.
Directions: Woodley Park is bordered by Victory Blvd. on the North and Burbank Blvd. on the South. The site is west of the 405 Fwy. (Written directions accompanied the article.)
FEES: Site fee for the day will be $7.00. There will be a surcharge of $7.00 for all non-members. Children 5 and under will be the guests of the barony.
