Yule Party
December 7
Come join the Barony of Dreiburgen in Yuletide celebration of the medieval Christmas “Time of the Twelves” on December 7, 1991. The Canton of Gallavally will be hosting the event which will include a sumptuous 5-course feast and 12 days ov excellent holiday reveling compressed into one. The site is the San Jacinto Community Center,
Schedule
- 12:00 noon – Site opens
- 1:00 pm – Feast begins
- 6:00 pm – Revel begins
- 10:00 pm – Site closed
Since this is Time of the Twelve’s, be prepared to walk 12 times under the kissing bush and for 12 wassailings for the good health of the earth and it’s people. “First Foot” will begin the feast and the “letting-in” ceremony. A Boars Head procession, the play of the 3 Shepherds, and games (Bee in the Middle, Hunt the Slipper) are all in store for us. We will have a gift exchange; please make a small gift (under $5.00) if you wish to participate.
The evening revel will feature dancing, desserts, merry-making, and a bardic circle. Please join us and bring your poems, songs, and stories.
Feast Cost: $12 for adults $6 for children under 8
Revel Only: $1.00 per person
Please bring your feastware. If you have 2 or m ore children, the cost is $2 for each additional child.)
Feast Menu
- 1st remove: Leek Soup, Pumpkin Soup, Green Salad, and breads.
- 2nd remove: Roast Turkey with Sausage Dressing & Gravy Rice.
- 3rd remove: Pork Roast/Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Apples & Onions, Sauteed Mushrooms, and Wild Rice,
- 4th remove: Roast Fowl with Jasmine Rice, and (Mock) Hummingbird’s Tongue.
- 5th remove: Plum Pudding with Hard Sauce, Pumpkin Pies, Mini-Trifles, Florentine Cookies, Almond-Raspberry Cookies, and Possets.
Beverages including champagne punch, apple cider, hot tea, and coffee. Each course will have various breads and butters.
