From the Crown Prints
The time approaches when brave fighters and gracious consorts ready themselves for noble and glorious combat, aspiring to achieve the Crown and Throne of Caid. To this end, the Barony of Calafia welcomes all to bear witness and enjoy a day of pageantry and splendor on Saturday, March 5, 2011. We will soon be seeking sponsors for the list erics, and priority for sponsorship will be given to geopolitical units. Sponsorship of an eric entails providing the herald, marshals, and hospitality in the form of shelter and refreshments for the fighters, consorts, and staff for that eric. For more information regarding sponsoring an eric, please contact the event stewards. Please come spend this historical day with us as we seek the heirs to the throne who will represent our fair kingdom at Pennsic XL!
Blackened Pot will be providing a delicious soup and quiche lunch for the hungry populace, for the paltry sum of $5 dollars.
Calafia has negotiated with the park for a late closure, so we do not have to be offsite by dark. Because there are no restaurants very close to the park, all members of the populace are invited to a potluck following closing court. Please bring a dish that serves 8, your feast gear and a chair. There will be some access to propane stoves available on site. More info will be available soon on the web.
Schedule of the Day: Site Opens 8am Opening Court 10am (or at Their Majesties leisure) Fighting will commence after court. Closing Court 5pm (or at Their Majesties leisure)
There is no smoking on site.
Merchants: There will be merchants at the event. If you are interested in merchanting, please contact crownmerchants@sca-caid.org
Additional Information
We are looking for sponsors for the multiple erics to provide refreshment and shade to the fighters and their consorts, and staff to man the field they fight on. Please contact the event stewards if you are interested in this opportunity to serve your kingdom and the dream!
We are also looking for volunteers to help set up and break down as well as assist with the day. There will be noms and much love for such good gentles!
Royal Presence: Their Majesties, King Wilhelm and Queen Thaleia will be presiding over the day and look forward to meeting their heirs!
