(Personal information removed) On Saturday, January 12th, 1985, the Barony of Calafia will proudly host the celebration of 12th Night. Calafia will take the greatest pleasure in presenting Their Majesties with elements and flavor of a High Byzantine Court. We invite all Caidans and friends to join us in this presentation.


  • 8:00 am Set-up crew arrives (delivery of decorations and banners). Please bring your personal banners.
  • 12:30 pm All halls open (dressing, halflings registration)
  • 1:30 pm Opening Court
  • 4:00 pm Break before Banquet (place your tableware)
  • 5:00 pm Banquet begins
  • 7:00 pm Banquet ends
  • 7:30 pm Revel begins
  • 11:30 pm Revel ends

Presentations: Presentations for Court must be submitted to Master Hrorek Halfdane of Faulconwood in writing no later than one week prior to 12th Night.

Games: There will be dancing to all the most popular Caidan music and more. Puzzling will include Arabian Nights, Le Mort d'Arthur, Norse Mythology, Origins of Christmas, and the History of Caid. There will be a quest for Scavengers. For more information, contact the Autocrats.

The King's Feast: The culinary genius of Harvey of Goodfriend presents for the pleasure of Their Majesties and the populace the following menu:

  • 1st Remove: Bounty from the King's Orchard, Fresh Fruit with cheese and crackers
  • 2nd Remove: Domestic Fowl with Rice
  • 3rd Remove: Lentil soup and breads
  • 4th Remove: A Roast Beast and Vegetables Constantinople
  • 5th Remove: Plum Theodora, Coffee Arabica, and Juice of Valencia

Revel Menu:

  • Justinian's Bread of Carrots with beaten Cream Cheese
  • Byzantine Chocolate Mint Heavy Cake
  • Coffee Arabica and Juice of Valencia

Feast: Adults $12.00, children (under 12) $6.00

The Children of Caid: The Halflings Office of Calafia is pleased to announce a Children's Nursery for Caid's Twelfth Night. Many activities are planned, including games, storytelling, a coloring table and assorted surprises!!

In order to provide these activities we need volunteers. All parents must donate 1/2 hour per child who use the Nursery. Volunteers are requested to donate no less than 1/2 hour; of course, more is appreciated. There is no time or age limit in the Nursery. Unmanageable children will be returned to the custody of their parents. NOTE: We will be pleased to have the time and talents of non-parent volunteers in the Nursery. Your Halflings Host for Twelfth Night is Lady Renlee Dav Mag Uidhir.

Twelfth Night Costume Contest : The annual Twelfth Night costume contest will be held in the afternoon, after Court and before the banquet (4-5 pm). There will be three major categories: (1) Byzantine costume (men and women), (2) Other country/period (men and women), and (3) Matched couples costumes (same period and country. These costumes do not have to be of the same fabric but should compliment each other. Any period, including Byzantine, may be entered in this category.) The winners will be announced at the Revel after the banquet. Direct any questions to Mistress Cristobal degli Glicine che Mangia Uome.
