On April 8 & 9 Canton Graywinds will host the CAID Anniversary Tourney at Sycamore Canyon Campground in Point Mugu, near Port Hueneme, Ventuea Co.
Sycamore Campground is on Hwy 101 about 10 miles E. of Oxnard & about35 miles W. of Santa Monica For those familiar with the road, it is the first Canyon E. of the BIG sand dune.
The title of “Captain of Caid” will be awarded, based on the results of the following contests:
Saturday:
- (1) Single Combat
- (2) Melee Combat
- (3) Stategy & Tactics
Sunday:
- (1) All Weapons Forms Lists (this will involve Fighting with every weapon Robear can imagine)
- (2) Simulated Mounted Combat (on bicycles against stationary targets)
For non—fighters or ambitious fighters, there will be the following Contests:
- (1) Create a new Heraldic Beast (Sponsored by Elizabeth Penvenen
- (2) New Game (Sponsored by Dana of Coleraine)n for the most entertaining & original game created by the most entertaining & creative entrant.
- (3) Triomph Tourny (Sponsored by Thin Robert of Lawrence) Triomph is the Medieval predecessor of Bridge
- (4) Singing (Sponsored by Thin Robert of Lawrence)
- (5) Song Writing (Sponsored by Graciella de Lagos)
- (6) Costume Coloring (Sponsored byViscountess Lorissa du Griffin)
Thanks to Viscountess Bevin Fraser of Sterling, the noted Arthurian scholar, Geoffrey Ashe, will be at this tourney & will lecture Sat. night; probably in the outdoor fire circle.
