Strangers in a Strange Land: Wrath of the Ice Weasels
With the winter swift approaching the Shire of Darach raises a call to arms asking all those who would brave the harrowing winter chill to join us in defending the newly christened halls of our Black Oak Lodge 2.0 from an impending ice weasel invasion. We have warm beds and hot food - all you need bring is your woobie and something sharp and pointy, any sword or stick will do but your wit will work in a pinch.
Join our scouting party in hunting for signs of ice weasel infiltration. Provoke the beast with your best imitation of an ice weasel call or show us a new and pleasing way to display an ice weasel pelt. Regale our gathering with your most daring-do against the ice weasel horde and the best or tallest tale will earn the teller the much vaunted moniker “Road Killer”. And if you still haven’t had your fill of ice weasel-y goodness then join us in the great hall Saturday evening and fill yourself up on a fanciful feast of ice weasel delicacies prepared by THL Catherine Ainsdale.
Our runners have been dispatched with maps to our new location but we warn you now follow the directions precisely or you too may find yourselves strangers in a strange land!
Weekend fee $70 per adult member, if postmarked on or before January 15, 2013 ($75 if postmarked after) Day tripping fee $30 per adult member, if postmarked on or before January 15, 2013 ($35 if postmarked after) Day trip fee includes both Saturday lunch and Saturday evening feast
Weekend fee per child 6-15 is $35; Day tripping fee per child 6-15 is $15 Please make checks payable to “SCA Inc. / Shire of Darach.” Please include $5 for each nonmember. From the North: Take your favorite freeway to the I-405 S/San Diego Freeway Take exit 57 toward Sunset Blvd. Turn left on N. Church Ln then take the 1st right onto Sunset Blvd. Turn right onto Capri Dr. (at the traffic circle continue straight to stay on Capri Dr.) Turn left onto Casale Rd. Casale Rd turns slightly to the right and becomes Sullivan Fire Rd. Then Sullivan Fire Rd turns slightly left and becomes Josepho Way which leads down into the camp.
