Once again, the time has come to beat each other with large sticks. And what better way to do it than at Angels' Melee in beautiful Arcadia County Park, located within the Barony of Angels? Assorted bone jarring, heavy weapons, melees and soft-touch shinai contests of death (just kidding, ladies!) are planned.
Contests include:
- Best abduction of a pole (to be explained, hopefully)
- Best abduction of a lady (our favorite)
- Best bribe from a fighter to the Lists Mistress (the prize is a pleasure like no other!)
- Best challenge
- Best death
And for you art critics (aargh!!), the tradition Best favor
MELEES! MELEES! MELEES!
And much, much more! The day will proceed as follows:
- Set-up - 8:00 a.m. (Set-up will be in the Seven Palms area in the park)
- Lists open - 9:00 a.m.
- Opening court - 10:15 a.m.
- Lists close - 11:15 a.m.
- Competitions begins - 11:45 a.m.
- Closing court - 5:00-ish (when all the fighting is done)
There will be a revel following the tourney, hosted at the Blackrunes' home. Maps will be available at the tourney. Revel will start approximately 7:30 p.m.
So you're thinking, Great! But is it easy to get there? Well, sure it is! (Directions and a hand-drawn map included in the article)
If you have any questions, please use the farspeaker to contact the autocrat or co-autocrat. Both farspeakers have answering contraptions in case the responsible parties are not home.
