This First Caid Rebellion was a one-day affair, fought at the Bakersfield Junior College Campus, Bakersfield, CA; on April 26 1975 (A.S.IX). It was the first in a series of "Rebellions" / wars between Caid and the West Kingdom that led to Caidan independence.

The Caidan Army was led by Prince Hugh the Undecided; the West by King Paul of Bellatrix.

The war was comprised of three battles: an Open Field Battle, Castle Battle, and a final Bridge Battle.

Numbers involved is disputed, but likely neither army had more than 35 fighters. Caid may have had a slight numeric advantage; while the West had a distinctive qualitative superiority: Caid had only one knight, Sir Hugh; while the West had King Paul of Bellatrix, undisputedly the best fighter in the world, as well as several other Dukes and a handful of very experienced belted knights.

The West won the Open Field battle; lost the Castle; and finally won the day (2 victories to Caid's 1) on the Bridge. This last was a "very close run thing"; with only Sir William the Lucky, the Western banner-bearer, surviving to cross the bridge to the Caidan side and claim the victory!
