Hail Caid! Come celebrate the coronation of our 40-year anniversary monarchs as Athanaric & Sigriðr ascend the thrones of Caid. Please travel and join us on January 6, 2018, to enjoy the hospitality of the Barony of Calafia as we share our lands and bountiful talents to honor Caid. Joy and festivities will be the theme as Caid also celebrates 12th Night. We will have games, the dirty dozen largesse display, a photo area, entertainment, singing, and amazing food. Please consider bringing a festive goody to share with all for the daytime snack table. This could be your favorite holiday treat or any edible item that conveys the holiday theme for you. In an effort to support the community with good will we are also encouraging a canned food drive. We may encourage some friendly competition to see what group can donate the most in non-perishable goods. Feast: To celebrate Coronation & Twelfth Night, the cooks of Calafia will bring you the tastes of renaissance Italy. We will be featuring the delights of Bartolomeo Scappi. Expect to see charcuteri, which is a course of various preserved vegetables, meats, cheeses, and fruits. Following the charcuteri will be three sumptuous offerings featuring chicken and lamb. If you have special dietary needs, please contact the Feast Steward in advance to discuss them. Site: Poway Community Church, 13501 Community Rd, Poway, CA 92064. This is a dry site. No pets, no candles, no open flames, please. The site is across from a major shopping center so if you choose to eat off-board there are nearby options that are within easy walking distance. Site opens: 8:00am Opening Court: 10:00am or at Their Royal Majesties' Pleasure Feast: 4:00pm Site closes: 9:00pm Adult registration: $13; Adult Member discount registration: $8 Youth registration: 13-17: $5; Children 12 and under are Guests of the Barony.
