Highland War in Al-Sahid
September 3 – 6, 2004
The sounds of battle preparations can be heard once again in the desert of Al-Sahid. Armies are being gathered for anticipation of war. The Shire of Al-Sahid would like to invite one and all to come and help defend the trade routes of Caid. There will be lots of new and exciting things this year and a few of the favorites from years past.
Site:
this event will be held at Schmidt Park, Southern California Logistics Airport (in old George Air Force Base,) where the grass is always green and there are lots of trees and shade. We have the use of showers at the gym across the street from the park.
War Events
War scenarios Saturday and Sunday, the Isle of Rhodes annual torch light tournament, youth boffer tournament, Al-Sahid great weapons tournament, archery competition (range within walking distance), arts and sciences competition on site cooking competition, a period games tent and tournaments, volunteer raffle and many more fun things.
There will be a “Peoples Choice” Arts and Sciences display. Bring your latest handiwork. No documentation required. Even if you don’t enter, please come by and vote for your favorite. A brewing contest to be judged by a “blue ribbon” panel of judges. e
Arts and Sciences classes are taking shape. There will be children’s activities the entire day.
Al-Sahid’s First Annual Iron Chef competition: This will be a time limited, on-the-spot cooking contest. Entries, unfortunately, must have pre-registered befor August 31, 2004.
