Queen's Champion
May 31
Her Majesty Cassaundra invites all to participate in her Queen's Champion Tourney, to be held on Sunday May 31, at Menifee Elemtary School (on the large grass field) in Sun City. Due to lack of Restaurants in the area, plans for the day include a box lunch auction. The highest bidder has the pleasure of the lunch and the company of the cook.
Her Majesty would request that the Standard weapons list (to include Florentine and polearm) be the order of the field. A Maypole dance is to be anticipated!
Contest include: Most Eloquent Statement of Devotion to the Queen; On-Site Drawing of Legendary Beast; Poetry. There will be a Faux Documentation Contest this is a research project, not an exercise in Creation Wrighting. We are looking for a piece of advertising making a spurious claim to periodness, i.e., “Spaghetti was brought to Italy by by Marco polo”, or “Nachos were brought to New Mexico by Conquistadores”.
Schedule:
- 8:30 am – Sire opens
- 10:00 am – Lists Open
- 10:30 am – Opening Court
- 12:00 am – Lists Begin
(And we go from there)
(NOTE: As this went for printing, there were discussions and mention made regarding reservations for pavilions around the eric. Contact the Autocrat for further information concerning this. Ed.)
Results
- Lists Winner: Armand de Sevigny
