This and a story I told were the winning entry for Lyondemere Lyon Bard competition at the online combined Lyondemere-Gyldenholt Virtual Anniversary on 6/26/21. I became the 19th Lyon Bard of Lyondemere!
It was written in the 2 hours between the announcement of the required words: Festival, Victorous, and The Sea, and the competition.
The heraldry of Lyondemere contains a shell of gold and Gyldenholt's heraldry contains trees of gold.
Victorious Festival by the Sea
- The plague has been most notorious;
- But we have emerged victorious.
- The quarantine was long,
- And we have emerged strong.
- To see our friends is most glorious!
- Today is a day of festival;
- A day of joy irrepressible.
- To see once again
- Our new and old friends,
- Online family unforgettable!
- And so our baronies by the Sea
- Do we celebrate today with glee:
- For the trees of gold,
- And the shell of gold.
- And this day is wonderful to see!
