MEDIEVAL FEAST IN HONNER OF ST. GERONIMUS
On Sat. Aug. 19, the Cooks & Brewers Guild of the Barony of Dreiburgen will host its 2nd annual medieval feast, this time in honor of our new patron saint, St. Geronimus (for more information on who that is, you will have to attend the tourney on Sun.) The site is set tentatively at the Rubidoux Grange Hall. Serving will begin at 4:00 pm. There will be 4 courses & anyone who attended last year can describe how excellent the food was.
The Menu is:
- 1st Course:
- Frutye Sallet
- Three Bredes with Butter & Honey
- Chychen Broth with Sippets
- 2nd Course:
- Roast Piggy with two sauses
- Grene Beans
- 3rd Course:
- A Grande Sallet
- Cornish Pasties
- A Tarte of Rys
- 4th Course:
- A Buffet of Desserts, including Gyngerbrede, Candyed Frutyes & Honey Almond Candye
The cost will be $7.00 per person, children under 10: $3.50.
On Sun. Aug. 20, the Barony of Dreiburgen will host its first, hopefully annual, tourney in honor of St. Geronimus our new patron saint. There will be a regular Lists, Prize to be a pewter drinking horn or a copper mug, & a Novice Lists, prize to be a length of rattan.
To qualify for the Novice Lists, you can not have fought in more than 3 regular lists at SCA events.
There will also be a Novice Heraldry Contest & several on-the-spot contests.
The tourney will be at Perris Hill Park in San Bernardino. Set-up will begin at 9:30 with Court to convene at 11:00 am. Everyone one who wants to hear the true story of St. Geronimus must be there!
