On May 7 and 8, either for war or for war maneuvers, the armies of the West and of Caid will meet for the third time on the battlefield at Rancho El Chorro Park in Tarnmist (San Luis Obispo) to demonstrate their valor and prowess at arms.
A variety of battle scenarios is being planned. This includes combat archery, so don't forget the screening for your helms. There wil also be target archery.
The arts competitions scheduled are:
- CERAMICS: constructed, thrown or molded.
- TEXTILES: spinning, weaving, batike.
- JEWELRY: all media.
A display case will be provided for the protection of fragile entries -- and others, also, if space permits.
Site rules are as follows: 1) All dogs must be on a leash. 2) All smalls (age seven and under) must be with a person aged fourteen or older AT ALL TIMES. There is a stream on the site and it be fairly full at this time of y ear. 3) No horses. 4) No open fires. However, there are many barbecue pits on site. Bring your own firewood or charcoal as there is none available at the park.
Unloading of baggage wains may begin at 5 pm on Friday, May 6. The site fee is $1 per tent per night, and $3 per vehicle but only if it is slept in.
