From the Crown Prints

  • Event listings on this site should have a "From the Crown Prints" heading, if that information is available. This is to contain a copy of the event announcement found in the CP, with modern names, addresses, etc. removed. I'm guessing you might have electronic copies of the announcements, which would be easier to move onto the Wiki than entering them manually or via OCR. Is that information that we could get access to? Would we have permission to re-publish that info?--Lachlan 07:18, 4 February 2009 (PST)

Re: From the Crown Prints - I have all event notices in Word. What would be the best way to upload? (I'm a newby at this Wiki thing.)

    • Uploading doesn't really work well on the wiki except for pictures. It would be a cut and paste job. If you can make the files available to Lachlan, he can get his editors/users to do the cut and paste work.--Kolfinna 11:12, 4 February 2009 (PST)

Thank you - will do. Lachlan, send me the e-mail address you'd like me to use, and I will make sure you're on the list when I send the event notices to the Webwright's office. --S

  • That would certainly be helpful. Go ahead and use wiki@caid-commons.org. I certainly appreciate how difficult it can be to learn a new system like the wiki. There are links to some instructions on Help:Contents. A real good way to learn is to click "edit" on any page and look through the code to see how the other authors do it. Below the edit window is a "Cancel" link, when you're done looking. You can even copy bits and pieces from one edit window into another. But there's no pressure to start editing. Learn at your own pace.--Lachlan 12:56, 4 February 2009 (PST)
