''Brush up yer Shakespeare! Start quotin’ him now.
Brush up yer Shakespeare, an’ da wimmin yous will wow!''

Join the Barony of Dreiburgen at Hunt Park (4015 Jackson Street, Riverside, CA 92503) for a day of mayhem and silliness that’s truly Shakespearean.

For fighters (armored and rapier), there will be Villains Tourney. It operates much like a traditional double elimination tourney with the following twist: any fighter may register a single “dirty trick” with lists (poisoned dagger, backstabbing henchman, murderous spouse, etc.). That trick may be used once any time up until the final round for an automatic win. Be careful, though, double kills caused by “dirty tricks” are destructive to both parties. Prizes will be given for the Victor of the Tourney and Best Death.

For those whose thrills are found outside the field of combat, there will also be several activities and competitions, including:

*A Bardic performance contest – best monologue, song, or (brief) scene from any of The Bard of Avon’s works

*A cooking contest featuring your best Shakespearean inspired dish (documentation of the dish itself is a bonus, but you must provide your Shakespearean connection to win)

*A Shakespearean Character contest – Come dressed as your favorite (or least favorite) Shakespearean character. Be able to explain your sartorial choices to the judges.

*Shakespearean Scavenger Hunt

*Youth activities

There will also be several of the traditional St Geronimous events, including: a Nose melee for both armored and rapier combatants, and a Best St Geronimous Relic competition.

  • A Shakespearean Character contest – Come dressed as your favorite (or least favorite) Shakespearean character. Be able to explain your sartorial choices to the judges.
  • Shakespearean Scavenger Hunt
  • Youth activities

There will also be several of the traditional St Geronimous events, including: a Nose melee for both armored and rapier combatants, and a Best St Geronimous Relic competition.
